Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for EVERYONE. It’s all about empowerment, a growth mindset, motivation and accountability. Everyone can benefit from coaching, from the most effective and influential leaders in the world to a recent graduate to a stay-at-home parent. If you are someone who wants to take your life or work game to the next level, then coaching is for you. All that is required is an open mind and a willingness to put in the work!
What's the difference between therapy and coaching?
There can be similarities between therapy and coaching, however, the main difference between the two is this: Therapy is about exploring an undesirable past, coaching is about enhancing the present and designing your most desirable future. Together we help you clarify your vision and work out the steps to get you to where you want to be.
What is CTI?
The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) is one of the oldest and largest coaching programs in the world. CTI as a company began 25 years ago, training over 55000 coaches to date, and operating in over 20 countries around the world.
Coaches receive the designation of Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) after completing their ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited certification program, which is the most rigorous and industry respected. Essentially, CTI training is considered the ‘Gold Standard’ in the industry! Check them out at www.coactive.com
What credentials do you have?
I am a CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) having completed 164 hours of training with CTI’s Core Curriculum and Certification Program. I am also a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) receiving my designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through them which requires at least 124 hours of training and a minimum of 500 hours of coaching.
I am trained as a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant (RHN) through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN).
I am a Reiki Level II practitioner of the Usui lineage.
I was a high end hairstylist for 15 years. When it comes to talking to people about their lives, it’s safe to say I’ve gained some transferable skills.
Where are you located?
My office is located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (near Halifax for non-locals) and I can also do sessions via phone, Zoom/Facetime/Google Hangout, the world is our oyster! Half of my clients I see in person, the other half over the phone, whatever works best for your lifestyle and location!
What should I expect for my first session?
If you are unsure of whether Coaching is for you, I always start with a complimentary sample session to see if it’s a fit. Once you’ve decided you’d like to get started, the first session or two is spent establishing our relationship and learning about who you are and what has brought you to coaching. These initial sessions are very structured and I will be guiding the conversation to get the information that will help us best work together. It is integral that I understand who you are and what is important to you, so I can tailor my approach to work best for YOU. All you need to bring is an open mind and a desire to see new action in your life!
How often do we meet? How long are sessions?
See my ‘Work With Me’ page for an outline of my programs and offerings.
I know you say I have it all within me, but I really feel like I don't have the answers. Should I wait until I feel like I have some direction before experiencing coaching?
I believe that absolutely everyone can benefit from having a coach. There is no need to have a clear vision of what you are looking for, we will figure it out together! Coaching provides a sounding board, perspective, encouragement, and accountability. All of this occurs in a safe and confidential environment. Who wouldn’t benefit from that? (I know I do!)
